5 Tips for Starting your Day on a Positive Note

Mindset
Your mindset in the morning can have a lasting affect on the rest of your day. Do you ever take the time to check in with yourself in the morning? This could be writing in a gratitude journal, reading a motivational book or quote, or reminding yourself of something that you are looking forward to in the day. Starting the day on a positive note often starts in the first couple minutes of being awake. Make it a habit to get in a great headspace before the day begins.
Nourish the body
Busy mornings can sometimes mean you don’t leave yourself time to eat a nutritious breakfast. It really is true what they say – breakfast is an important meal! According to Better Heath, breakfast replenishes your supply of glucose to boost your energy levels and alertness.
To start your day off on the right track, make it a habit to eat breakfast every morning! If it helps, make an effort to prep your breakfast the night before. While you’re eating breakfast, it’s also a great time to have a big glass of water.
Listen to something that brings you joy
Another great way to start your day off on the right note is to listen to something that makes you happy! While you are getting moving for the day, put on your favourite playlist, tune in to your favourite podcast, or finish up the audio book you have been listening to. Making time to engage in your interests each morning is a great way to start the day on a positive note!
Give yourself a little extra time by NOT hitting snooze
Mornings traditionally involve a bit of rushing to get out the door. Whether you are working from home or you are heading to work, give yourself a little extra time in the morning by setting your alarm earlier, or make sure you get up the first time your alarm goes off! Although it can sometimes be tricky to get out of bed in the morning, this will help to give yourself the opportunity to not be too rushed in the morning. With busy schedules this can often be one of those moments you have during the day to do things at your own pace. This extra time will also allow you to engage in a few of the tips shared here!
Get moving!
Whether that is a quick walk around the block (better bundle up!), a few stretches, or your at-home workout routine, getting moving right in the morning is a great way to set yourself up for a productive day. This is a also a good way to wake yourself up and fit a little activity into a busy day right in the morning. If a morning workout isn’t your thing, this could be a great time to get your body moving by playing around with your pet!
